Today (Sunday) saw the culmination of a marathon sitting of the HOR (House of Representatives) with the government succeeding in satisfying the entire nation with the exception of the Opposition bench, their minority supporters and the criminal element now at bay.
Every fraudulent objection raised by the Opposition was convincingly demolished as well as all the aspersions cast against the government proven hypocritical against past PNM actions, words and performance.
The contributions of MP’s Anil Roberts, Winston Peters, Roodal Moonilal, Winston Dookeran, Dr. Lincoln Douglas and others were really sterling and effective but the coup de grace was delivered by the PM herself whose reserve and magnanimity shone in her words, announced plans and adjustments to the emergency regulations.
One can look forward to a change in how this country treats its citizens after this watershed declaration of an SOE which has also simultaneously defined the crypt of PNM interment.
Outside of open insurrection, the opposition now has no way of recovering ground foolishly ceded to the PPG by its stubborn refusal to recognize courage and wisdom.
One now looks forward to Dr. Selwyn Ryan and his team serving the people most in need of social and moral rearmament hitherto neglected, abused and used by those they trusted to advance their social development.
The several special social projects and units announced by the PM has shown that this SOE is a blessing unrecognized until now for the good that will flow to our youths as a consequence of her courage to confront the ungodly without fear.
