The Chairman of the Police Complaints Authority (PCA) is determined to get the PCA working on the backlog of cases before it.
She promised that after four years of dormancy, it ius time for the PCA to wake up and get its work done.
"It is not business as usual. The PCA has to ensure that in its investigation, the right things are being done, and things are being done rightly," she said.
The PCA is currently investigating the police killing of three citizens in south Trinidad last month. Relatives of the victims dispute the police version of the statory that the three were killed in a shootout with police; they say there was no shootout.
There are currently 141 other cases before the PCA.
Gillian Lucky told reporters Monday he expects to have additional staff join the PCA in two weeks. They will have to be former officers or former members of SAUTT since no no active police officer can be a part of the PCA.

why employ ex police officers and or suatt members, what if they have complaints against them?
