Trade Minister Stephen Cadiz told the media Ramcharitar quit because he and Ramcharitar has a difference of opinion. He did not elaborate.
However Ramcharitar told the Guardian newspaper he did it for "personal reasons" adding, "I realised I committed myself too widely.”
Ramcharitar told the Guardian he is currently working on a project in the public service arena on a full-time basis and his time at eTeck "is eroding the time and attention I pay to that."
Ramcharitar is a retired partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC). He was appointed to chair eTeck last November.
