COP choosing new leader Sunday

Thousands of members of the Congress of the People (COP) are voting Sunday for a new political leader. They are choosing from four candidates - Cabinet ministers Prakash Ramadhar and Anil Roberts; executive member Vernon De Lima and floor member Nalini Dial.

Polls close at 4 pm and the results should be known Sunday night.

The new leader will take over from Winston Dookeran, who is not in the contest. Dookeran is the founding leader of the party, which is part of the five-member governing coalition in Trinidad and Tobago.
