Photo story: CEPEP volunteers getting into agriculture

Minister of the People and Social Development Dr. Glenn Ramadharsingh visited an agricultural project of CEPEP contractor Roopchand “Voom Voom” Naranjit in Palmiste, Central Trinidad last week.

The project has been undertaken by CEPEP workers, mostly on a voluntary basis. They have planted a number of crops such spinach, egg plant, lettuce, tomatoees, cauliflower, sweet pepper and pimentos, cucumber, pumpkin, ochroes, corn and bodi.

Ramadharsingh said this is part of the empowerment side of the whole idea of CEPEP which is just an instrument of getting people out of poverty. He said such projects by Naranjit needed to be encouraged.
