Dumas appears in court, case postponed to Oct. 6

Former Government Minister in the Manning PNM administration Rennie Dumas went to court in Scarborugh Wednesday morning to answer to assault charges.

Magistrate Rajendra Rambachan did not ask Dumas to enter a plea, since both charges are indictable offences. He set October 6, 2011 to answer for Dumas to return to court.

Dumas is accused to assaulting Roger Simon on June 1 during an argument about the removal of materials from lands belonging to Dumas in Arnos Vale, Plymouth.

Dumas resigned his post at Coordinator of the Strategic Oversight Unit at the Tobago House of Assembly after police laid the charges against him.
