The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) launched a new service Wednesday that gives commuters in Chaguanas and Longdenville commuters a direct bus to Port of Spain via the Southern Main Road.
The buses will follow a strict morning schedule, leaving Montrose Junction every half hour from 6 until 8:30. The afternoon service will also operate on a half hour schedule.
During off-peak hours, the service to Port of Spain will be every 60-70 minutes.
PTSC Chairman Devant Maharaj said the corporation will use GPS technology to provide up to date bus schedules.
Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner said if the bus service is to be of any real value to the Chaguanas population, passengers must have a smooth, traffic-less ride when entering and leaving the borough.
