Figures from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) department show that The United States deported 88,497 “criminal aliens” or migrants to their country of birth in the Latin America and the Caribbean region in the past six months.
A criminal alien is a person who has been convicted of a crime in the U.S.
The biggest receiver of criminal migrants was Mexico, with 70,874 deported as of March 28 this year.
The majority sent back in the past six months were from Latin America, with 2,028 from the Caribbean region. The highest number for the Caribbean was 1,066 for the Dominican Republic.
Jamaica was second with 528 with Trinidad and Tobago third with 125. The figures for other countries were smaller:
