Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar on Thursday called on computer manufacturers to give concessionary prices to countries in the Latin American region to help in educating future generations. She said education is a passport out of anarchy and chaos.
Persad-Bissessar made the comments as she participated in a round table on education at the World Economic Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
She spoke of her own experience in Trinidad and Tobago where the introduction of laptops to high school students has contributed to a significant change in the technology index.
