Watson Duke is threatening to shut down the public service on Ash Wednesday.
The president of the Public Services Association (PSA) told public sector workers on Friday, “Drunk or sober I want a massive rally out here on Wednesday because we are fighting for survival.”
He was speaking at the Brian Lara Promenade. He called on his membership to shut down the High Court and Industrial Court. “Let it come to a halt because you have to see about your business,” he said.
Duke said the Government is wasting financial resources by “feteing away the money.”
The PSA is demanding higher wages but is not giving a final figure. Duke has said the PSA must get "double-digit" increases; the government has offered five per cent over three years with a $2,000 lump sum payment.
