PM Kamla meets with Pan Trinbago executive members |
“I am honoured by your offer and I’m happy to accept. Our Government is committed to supporting the Arts and we will render assistance where possible,” Persad-Bissessar told the pannists. She also urged the organisation to submit a proposal to cabinet for its Pan Factory.
Persad-Bissessar reaffirmed Government’s commitment to Pan Trinbago noting the $TT7.2 million dollars allocated to the organisation for its headquarters.
It's the first time ever that Pan Trinbago has been allotted funds from the National Budget for the purpose of building its headquarters.
Pan Trinbago received its last major boost from Government in 2001 when the Panday UNC government gave the organisation land in Trincity to build its headquarters.
