These pictures came from the Internet and we have no way of verifying whether they are genuine original photos. However we thought of publishing it especially with respect to the story that accompanied them.
We will let the person who posted this tell the story:
"On Friday 11th February 7:30pm, while driving east along the Beetham highway, a gang of about seven (7) men were throwing debris at oncoming vehicles. The only logical explanation was to force you to stop or crash so that they can rob you – dead or alive.
"Some drivers got through unscarred but others were not as fortunate. I got a concrete foundation block thrown at my windscreen while driving and this was at a speed of 80+ km/h.
"The block broke through my windscreen on the passenger side, shattering the glass, ricocheted off the back seat and landed between the front passenger and driver seat. A second block landed on the left side back panel, resulting in damages and loss of the complete back lamp unit.
"Fortunately, I didn’t lose control of my vehicle and I certainly didn’t stop and drove straight to the Barataria Police Station – which is another story for another time.
"If there was a passenger in the front seat or if the block had landed on the driver side, it would have been a lot worse.
"I’m sending this email to advise people of the potential danger(s) of driving in that area. In my opinion, it’s a better idea to drive at a speed that allows you time to react or to regain control of your vehicle. At very high speeds, a sudden minute twitch on the steering wheel can be catastrophic."
