Jack gives Jamaican school US$30,000 gift

Jack Warner on Friday made a generous gift to the Windward Road Primary and Junior High School in Kingston, Jamaica.

During a visit to the school, the Works and Transport Minister pledged JA$500,000 (US $6,000) annually for the next five years. The minister, who is also a FIFA Vice-President, asked the management of the school to spend some of the money for sports.

Warner said he would review the gift after the initial five year period and suggested that the school could benefit for another five years.

In an address the standard five class, Warner said all things are possible. He spoke of his own rise from humble beginnings to the positions he now holds. He said as a young boy growing up the the countryside he never thought he would have visited 170 countries as a football administrator.

Cheryl Blackman, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Works and Transport, and Chairman of Caribbean Airlines Limited (CAL), George Nicholas III, accompanied Warner to the school.
