Photo Story: Jack promises to hand over Savannah stands to NCC by Feb. 10
Works and Transport Minister made an inspection tour of the Queen's Park Savannah Sunday morning and promised to hand over the Savannah stands to the National Carnival Council (NCC) by February 10.
Warner told reporters the demolition and reconstruction of the North Stand would begin this week. He also said the Grand Stand would be upgraded.
He said the facilities would be ready well ahead of the hosting of Panorama preliminaries.
During the tour, Multicultural Minister Winston "Gypsy" Peters disclosed the upkeep of the nearby National Academy of Performing Arts is costing the Government $40 million annually and it was challenging to integrate it into other Carnival activities to create a “Carnival City.”
