Rodney Charles is T&T's Ambassador to the United Nations

Communication specialist Rodney Charles has been appointed Trinidad and Tobago's Ambassador to the United Nations. 

He was handed his instruments of appointment Thursday and is expected to take up the appointment in New York by the end of the month.

Charles is currently the Special Policy Adviser to the President of The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad & Tobago (COSTAATT), Emmanuel Rodriguez.

Charles has worked extensively in the field of media, corporate communication, political communication and marketing in Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean.

He holds a Master of Journalism (MJ) degree from Carleton University.

In related news, former health Minister in the Panday UNC government Dr Hamza Rafeeq has been appointed Trinidad and Tobago's Ambassador to Brazil.
 
Another former cabinet minister Mervyn Assam has been appointed a former Trade and Industry minister was appointed Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary of Trade and Industry.
