Trinidad and Tobago’s Acting High Commissioner to Lomndon Rouana Gopaul is finalising arrangements for a meeting Friday between Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and Caricom diplomats.
Persad-Bissessar is due to have a working luncheon with the 12 diplomatic representatives of Caricom countries at the Trinidad and Tobago High Commission’s office at Belgrave Square.
Several matters relevant to the Caribbean community are expected to be discussed at the meeting.
The matters are likely to include the recent imposition of a duty on airline passengers, a subject to which Persad-Bissessar alluded during an address earlier this week to T&T nationals in London.
The Prime Minister is also expected to share her views for the continued development of Caricom and the Commonwealth.
She will be joined at the function by other members of her delegation, including Government Ministers Dr. Suruj Rambachan and Stephen Cadiz.
On Friday afternoon Persad-Bissessar will be interviewed by BBC. She and other members of her delegation are due to return home on Saturday.
