“You are so fortunate that right across the road will be the hub of activity in Chaguanas. It is the place where the new market will be built and where the parkade for the Felicity water taxi will be housed,” the Chaguanas West MP said.
Minister of Public Utilities Emmanuel George, MP for Couva North, Ramona Ramdial and Chaguanas Mayor Orlando Nagassar were present for the ceremony.
The mayor promised to establish a committee to oversee the management of the ground and use of the lights.
As a boy, Warner played on that same ground. “I never thought that I would live to see the day when lights would have been brought to this ground,” he said.
Warner promised that during the time that the under 17 matches are being played in Trinidad residents of Chaguanas and environs will be able to see some of the football team practise at Woodford Lodge, starting with Brazil!
