Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar met with the Chinese Ambassador to Trinidad and Tobago, Yang Youming and a Chinese delegation to discuss trade, agriculture, cultural exchange and scholarships.
Persad-Bissessar signaled her intent to consider establishing a Trinidad and Tobago Embassy in China to continue 36-year old diplomatic relationship between the two countries.
The Chinese delegation invited the Prime Minister to visit China and said it would offer assistance in establishing an embassy in the country.
Persad-Bissessar also met with the High Commissioner of India, Malay Mishra, who expressed an interest in strengthening ties between India and Trinidad and Tobago in the fields of investment, trade, culture, ICT and the fashion industry.
Persad-Bissessar also held discussions with British Deputy High Commissioner Geoff Patton.
