The National Infrastructure Development Company Limited (NIDCO) on Monday formally took ownership of four new Water Taxi Ferries with a signing ceremoney at the NIDCO Boardroom in Port-of-Spain.
The vessels were built by the Australian company, AUSTRAL, at a cost of more than $450 million. They were ordered by the previous government for use on the ferry service between San Fernnando and Port of Spain.
The government expects to put the new boats into service on October 1.
