Williams told the Express the story raised serious allegations "and as the head of the organisation, I will treat the matter with the greatest of urgency, to address the complaints. I will deal with it in a very efficient and effective manner."
The Express said according to its sources all the officers assigned to the unit have been instructed to report to Williams's office Monday.
The ROPTF falls under the CID, which is temporarily headed by Supt Wayne Boyd of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, in the absence of Snr Supt Glen Hackett, who is out of the country attending a training course in England, the Express reported.
It said the unit reported directly to retired acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Gilbert Reyes, who was then head of Anti-Crime Operations of the police service.
