Works Minister Jack Warner and representatives of the Trinidad and Tobago Contractors Association (TTCA) are expected to meet Friday to discuss money matters.
The contractors have said their industry faces imminent collapse unless government immediately pays them billions outstanding for projects they have done over the past few years.

Warner told reporters Thursday the Government has noted the concerns of the TTCA over the languishing construction industry, which is owed an estimated $7 billion.
“I share their concerns, and they wrote me up to last week. I wrote them and told them that we are meeting tomorrow (Friday),” he said.
“I share their concerns because the fact is that if the construction industry comes to a halt it will have a spin-off effect on the entire society, the entire economy. And I think the Minister of Finance and the Cabinet is aware of this.
"At the appropriate time I think they will make the appropriate announcement to show that they have addressed those concerns,” he added.
Warner also noted that while the government is seeking foreign assistance to deal with the flooding problems in the country locals won't be forgotten.
“We will give them the first option...We understand that the construction industry is a bit depressed these days, and anything that we can find for our local workers, or contractors to do we shall give them the opportunity," the minister said.
However he had a warning. "I will tell you that they will have to deliver, not only on time but also quality work.”
