Post office working overtime to deliver poll cards

The post office in Trinidad and Tobago is working overtime Sunday to deliver poll cards to citizens for Monday's Local Government Election.

However, the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) has advised persons who are eligibe to vote that the cards are not necessary in order to vote.

The EBC says everyone whose names is on the voters' list is eligible to vote. Those who did not receive a poll card on time would need to identify themselves to the satisfaction of the EBC officials on duty at the polling station.

More than one million people are eligible to vote at centres throughout the country.
