People's Minister begins outreach program in Diego Martin

The People's Partnership government in Trinidad and Tobago has started a series of meetings at which Minister of the People Dr. Glen Ramadharsingh will meet directly with people across the country.

The first in the series was organised by Don Sylvester, Regional Coordinator (North) for the United National Congress (UNC), the principal partner in the coalition led by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar.

Hundreds of people from the three Diego Martin constituencies attended the first meeting over the weekend at Covigue Road in Diego Martin.

Ramadharsingh outlined his vision to provide services to the nation, noting that the social development division of his ministry would establish outreach offices across the country where people can enquire about various services.

He said details of the services would also be available at the offices of all Members of Parliament.

The minister said each office would have coordinating officials from various ministries who would also hear complaints from members of the public and advise the minister so that the government can address the complaints.

Ramadharsingh had mandated Sylvester to coordinate the event, which attracted well over 750 residents of the Diego Martin region.

Ramadharsingh praised Sylvester’s efforts and he challenged him to continue to mobilise people from all communities throughout the country to take part in the Ministry’s outreach program.
