Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar confirmed on Tuesday that Subhas Panday will be joining the Trinidad and Tobago government.

But Persad-Bissessar gave reporters the assurance that there will be no problem and that she will deal with the issue ahead of Friday's opening of Parliament. He will take the oath of office Thursday as a minister in the ministry of national security.
Speaking at a media conference at her office Persad-Bissessar also announced other Parliamentary portfolios:
The 10th Parliament convenes on Friday with a ceremonial opening and 'throne' speech by President Max Richards.
