Letter: We love you Warner!

Amazing scenes were witnessed last evening (Tuesday) at the Piarco International Airport.

Hundreds of people crowded the venue simply to get a glimpse of Works and Transport Minister Jack Warner. Many rushed forward to shake his hand.

I cannot recall the last time that a Government Minister was treated to such a greeting after spending some time abroad. The kind of love that was expressed was second to none.

It was notable that the crowd was largely Indo-Trinidadian. Warner's appreciation has cut the ethnic divide. Clearly it was a reflection of the deep admiration that the people have towards Warner who is considered a performer.

It also seems that this admiration has grown since the attempt by Keith Rowley to derail the Works Minister. Warner's respect and love has increased by Rowley's antics.

Like most of this country I would like to see Warner continue in his respective posts. In FIFA, he contributes to our international image and in Works, he would contribute to national development. We need both at this time.

We love you Warner.
