Lawyers for Ishwar Galbaransingh and Steve Ferguson are expected to make representation Wednesday for the release of the two prominent businessmen from the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca, Trinidad.
Police arrested them Tuesday.
Their bail expired on June when the Privy Council refused to grant an order to block their extradition to Florida where they are wanted on dozens of charges related to bid-rigging and corruption related to the Piarco Airport Development Project.
Attorney General Anand Ramlogan has given lawyers for both men seven days to make legal representation explain why they should not be extradited. That deadline expires on Monday.
Ramlogan has reiterated that the Office of the Attorney General has no role or function in the arrest of persons, noting that the matter is for the Commissioner of Police and the Director of Public Prosecutions.
