The Chairman of the United National Congress has also extended best wishes to all mothers of Trinidad and Tobago.
"Though we commemorate this special day in the middle of an election campaign, we must not spare a moment to celebrate and honour those who have conceived and given birth to our nation," Warner said in a message to mark the occasion.
"Many of our mothers will have the unenviable experience of spending Mother's Day remembering their sons and daughters who died through the vicious crime that has engulfed our country.
"Others would reflect on their children who died in our hospitals due to negligence. Many who live in abject poverty would contemplate a Mother's Day 2011 when they can have food on their tables and still others would pray for meaningful jobs for their children.
"This year, Mother's Day has an even greater significance. It comes on the eve of the "mother of all elections" when a mother has positioned herself as the next Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago.
"Mrs. Kamla Persad Bissessar is set to become the sixth ever premier in the Caribbean, joining Dominica, Netherlands Antilles, Haiti, Guyana and Jamaica.
"Persad Bissessar's battle to win Government is a battle on behalf of all the mothers who cry for a better future. It is battle for all the mothers who have felt pain and emotional injury from a callous and uncaring political regime.
"On July 24th all of the nation's mothers would receive the best mother's gift ever.
"Abraham Lincoln once said, "I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life". On Mother's Day we must collectively resolve to listen to the prayers of our mothers.
"We must cling to the words which come from our mothers' hearts. These words must translate into a determination into making a country a better place. These words must engender change. The prayers of our mothers must be the prayers for a country that will rise," Warner said.
