If the information from the UNC PRESS RELEASE is correct, then the surrendering of the St Augustine seat will almost mean that an emboldened PNM coupled with the fall out from the UNC will make the East West Corridor a major campaign battleground, putting pressure on the neighbouring St Joseph and Tunapuna constituencies. In those 3 constituencies, the PNM is in control of two, it is almost certain that the St Augustine constituency will be under real pressure for the first time in decades - since 1971 when it was held by the PNM's Ashraf Ali and the real likelihood of losing it. A rejected candidate and base supporters will not have the enthusiasm as an incumbent, the culture here is different to the PNM's and time is too short to convince people. Winston Dookeran lost to Vasant Bharath, who therefore is a strong candidate to pull it off ?
Don't tell me is the "loose cannon judge". He will only mess up things.Change, especially political change must always come at a pace that people are comfortable with.
