The party made the bold pronouncement in a media release in response to concerns expressed by former cabinet minister Fitzgerald Hinds who said last week that he fears that the party could lose an election at this time.

But party chairman Conrad Enill disagrees. And in the release Enill noted that the PNM has been ready for a vote since October last year.
Enill suggested that Hinds is not aware of the party’s mobilisation efforts. "I would like to point out that Mr Hinds holds no position in the party’s hierarchy nor in his constituency, and is therefore obviously not aware" of several important factors relating to the PNM's preparedness for an election.
Enill noted that since October 2009 has held 10 mobilisation meetings with constituency representatives from all 41 constituencies. Each meeting, he said attracted more than 400 people.
He noted that the result of the meetings "were amply demonstrated by the attendance of our recently held Special Convention at Chaguaramas, which the official reports confirmed were in excess of 17,000."
Enill said instead of expressing unfounded fears, the former Laventille MP should "use his best effort to ensure that the PNM is in its strongest position to secure an overwhelming victory when the elections are called."
Enill concluded that the "PNM readiness has never being better."
