Every day someone dies in a road accident in Trinidad and Tobago. Four died Tuesday in a single crash.
This is how the Trinidad Express reported it:
"Four people died when a blown tyre sent a ten-tonne truck careening into oncoming traffic on the Solomon Hochoy Highway near Gasparillo yesterday (Tuesday).
"The driver of the truck, Kevon Moses, was killed, along with the three occupants of the pick-up his truck hit - Naitram ’Alphie’ Subiah, 63, wife Maureen, 60, and daughter Crystal, 24."
When accidents happen and people die families are devastated. Love ones don't come back!
Many factors contribute to accidents - speed, lack of safety precautions, malfunctioning vehicles, poor road conditions. But one of the most common is drunk driving.
A friend sent us a video that runs 5:22 that we recommend you watch whether you drive or not; whether you drink or not.
It is about what drunk driving can do.
It was meant as a Christmas campaign against drunk driving in Australia, but the images and messages are relevant every day, especially to a country like Trinidad and Tobago where having "a drink for the road" is, sadly, too common.
