A report in the Trinidad Guardian Thursday states that a police team assigned to the Anti-Corruption and Investigations Bureau is preparing to go to Malaysia to probe allegations against Calder Hart.
The officers would try to authenticate birth and marriage certificates that could link Hart's wife, Sherrine to directors of a company that won lucrative government contracts in Trinidad and Tobago through UDeCOTT.
Last week, the Congress of the People (COP) presented documents which it claimed prove Hart had family links with directors of CH Development, now called Sunway.
The paper quoted a source at the police unit who said about four officers will go to Malaysia. It said the head of the unity, Senior Supt Terry Young, has confirmed that officers are heading to "as soon as possible.”
