Housing Development Corporation (HDC) managing director Jearlean John says there is no voter-padding in HDC housing projects.
Opposition leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar raised concerns about the issue earlier this week when she suggested that the HDC is using its housing development program to move PNM supporters into areas where the ruling party is weak.
She was responding for a public appeal from the Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) for people who have changed their addresses to make sure that they advise the EBC of their status to guarantee that the correct information is on the commission's database.
Chief Elections Officer Howard Cayenne said on Sunday Government and private housing projects have led to a pattern of "constant internal migration".
The UNC leader urged the EBC to conduct a closer examination of the demographic shift to ensure that there is no voter-padding.
