Video producer and editor Shiva Parasram has launched a new video production service in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
Audio Visual Media Production (AVM) will be using the latest Apple equipment and software for a range of audio-visual services.
It will specialize in editing video in HD. Other services include shooting video for a variety of events, including weddings, religious functions and parties.
AVM also has facilities to transfer old linear material on VHS tape to CD or DVD, and music and other recordings from cassettes and vinyl to CD.
AVM hopes to expand its production facilities to include desktop publishing and design by the end of the year. The company already has the facility to restore old and faded photgraphs.
Shiva is an experienced all-media technician who received his training in radio and television at the Kingstec campus of the Nova Scotia Community College, specializing in linear and digital video editing.
He worked for the National Broadcasting Network (NBN) in Trinidad and Tobago for several years until it closed in 2005 before returning home to Canada to work at Rogers Media and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), at the Broadcast Centre in Toronto.
At Rogers he was an editor for the OMNI's multilingual service, editing news and features in several languages; at the CBC he edited news material for network and local programs.
Shiva has also worked on creative productions in a freelance capacity.
AVM is based in Ajax, Ontario. It offers services to clients across the Greater Toronto Area.
