Kamla Persad-Bissessar has told the Sunday Express that she trusts the people and is confident that they will elect her leader of the United National Congress. And she said when the election is over her priority is to deal with fixing the party's internal election and then getting to work on a plan to win a general election.
She told the paper she is not worried about talk about divisiveness and hostility after the becomes leader.
"The people in our party are there to serve the nation. I have every confidence that when I win this election we will all get together as a party and deal with our problems. That’s the way we have done it in the past.
"And then we’ll deal with the national problems, first of which is to get Manning to call an election and we’ll win that election because the people are fed up with the Manning regime."

I am not sure that the UNC have dealth with thier problems or has ever dealth with them as suggested by Kamla, I take it that thhis comment is just the politically correct thing to say, it is because of the problems within the UNC that the PNM is able to tote away billions. and it is because of the UNC's problems that the PNM is in power today.
