FIFA President Joseph Sepp Blatter sent a personal note to Jack Warner Monday congratulating Warner, who is FIFA's vice president, for his victory in Sunday's election as Chairman of the United National Congress.
Warner scored a landslide victory in the internal election, which also saw a similar win for Kamla Persad-Bissessar as political leader.
In a letter emailed to Warner Blatter said, "Your election is a vibrant testimony to your brilliant political career and represents the desire of the people of your beautiful country to strengthen the cultural and education values within the society of Trinidad and Tobago further...
"I am certain you will take this responsibility and that you will rise to the challenge to continue building a better future for Trinidad and Tobago."
Blatter said it was a most fitting pre-birthday gift. Warner celebrates his birthday Tuesday.
