The letter to Kemchan Ramdath, Chairman, Internal Elections Committee is transcribed below:
"I have now fully considered the contents of your email on the matter at caption and wish to respond accordingly. I still do maintain my right to respond further and in greater detail at some other point.
- Can you point me to the Policy (by way of copy) of the Internal Elections Committee referred to in Item number 1 of your email?
- Who determined this policy and was this policy approved by the NATEX?
- You have made determinations on the positions of Elections Supervisors and not Presiding Officers. Why are you treating with officers differently? Can you say when this would be done? And what is your policy in terms of cut off dates and notices on these appointments?
- Do you have a policy on official disclosure on your appointments or do prospective candidates and incumbent NATEX Members have to write (as I did) for clarification?
- Can you provide me with a full list of all 62 recommendations made and the appointments finally made?
- You say only 28 appointments to Elections Supervisors were made in the first instance. Do you intend to make more and,if yes, when? What is your policy on this?
- I agree that all Elections officials must be fair and must not openly canvass as you say. Has this been communicated to all Election officials, candidates, NATEX etc.? Please, can you also point me to the policy that governs the work of Elections Officials ? What are the punitive sanctions you propose?
