The Ministry of Health in Trinidad and Tobago has announced that 5,486 persons were immunized against Swine Flu in the first two weeks of the arrival of the H1N1 vaccines in the country.
It said priority was given to persons listed in the high priority groups, which front line health care workers at hospitals and health care facilities, national security workers, pregnant women, children, key decision makers and persons with chronic respiratory conditions, chronic communicable diseases and "immuno-compromised" conditions.
The ministry has also said H1N1 vaccines have been sent to private hospitals and they are also available to private doctors through the County Medical Officers of Health.
