President Max Richards has extended the life of the commission investigating UDeCOTT and the construction sector and has asked members to hand him their report not later that Feb. 28, 2010.
Professor John Uff remains chairman, with two others commissioners: Desmond Thornhill and Kenneth Sirju. Israel Khan had resigned earlier after admitting that he may have had a bias against the executive chairman of UDeCOTT.
Public hearings are scheduled to resume in port of Spain on December 7.
The commission was forced to halt its work after it learned that it was acting illegally since its activities had not been gazetted as required by law. That problem was fixed with a validation bill that was passed in Parliament.
Attorney General John Jeremie had appointed former Court of Appeal judge, Anthony Lucky, to inquire what went wrong and why the matter was not published in the Gazette.
Lucky's final report is yet to be submitted.
The commissioners were first appointed by Richards on September 9, 2008, with a mandate to produce the report to the President in September 2009.
