Letter: Time for UNC to change and move on

This is a very interesting view on the current sorry state of the leadership of the UNC.

The recent court case where, inter alia, the learnard Judge ruled that the National Executive suspended the three regional representatives unfairly and ignored natural justice to prevail in its decisions constituted a major public embarrassment to the party.

Today's (Tuesday) ruling was as a result of the NATEX hasty and unfounded decision to refer the three parliamentarians (including a Dep. Political Leader) to the Discipline Committee of the party. Today's decision is indeed another embarrassment in the eyes of the national community.

It is also, very sad to note that there are several other instances involving the same members of the leadership which bring the party into odium, severe public criticism and embarrassment.

The time has come for change within the leadership of the party and the current Political Leader/Chairman, under whose watch these decisions were taken, should step aside to enable the party to hold free and fair election of a new leader team.
