The National Gas Company (NGC) of Trinidad and Tobago said in a news release Tuesday it is nearing completion of an under sea pipeline that will send natural gas directly to Tobago.
The NGC said the completion date for the $500 million project is the end of next year. The line will carry gas to Tobago from offshore fields on Trinidad's northeast coast to Tobago.
The 58-mile natural gas pipeline will run northwards from BHP's Angostura Platform Complex to the Cove Estate in Tobago.
About 150 people are working on the project in Trinidad and another 58 in Tobago. The project is an undertaking of the National Energy Corporation (NEC).
