United National Congress (UNC) deputy political leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar is in a fighting mood and she has her sights on Jack Warner.
Speaking at a UNC meeting in Penal she said she declared for war on her fellow deputy leader. "He touched the wrong woman, I going for him. I am strong and I am a woman...I am not afraid him,” she shouted.
The Siparia MP told supporters she is convinced more than ever that Warner is an agent of People’s National Movement (PNM).
She spoke about the three instances when Warner worked with the PNM: Monday's expulsion of Suruj Rambachan as mayor of Chaguanas and two separate votes with the PNM in Parliament.
“Warner and the people of Ramjack voted not once, not twice, but three times with the PNM...They cannot be trusted. Do not trust anything they say. I say do not trust anything they say,” she told UNC supporters.
“I am asking now if this plot was true? Did Warner meet with Manning? I need answers,” she added.
The former attorney general said she would review the law to determine if the new Chaguanas mayor is qualified to hold the post. She said she understands that Natasha Navas is not a member of a village council and does not meet the criteria according to the law.
Oropouche West MP Mickela Panday described Monday's move in Chaguanas as a “hostile takeover,” adding that "they only care about themselves. They do not care about anyone else.”
