Former Central Bank Governor Dr Euric Bobb says he has not resigned as chairman of the CL Financial Group and chairman of Colonial Life Insurance Company (Clico).
Chaguanas West MP Jack Warner told Parliament Friday that Bobb had resigned. And local media quoted government sources as saying Bobb had indicated that he would be unable to take on the responsibilities of the posts.
No one in the House refuted Warner's statements.
But in an email to other members of CL Financial’s board of directors, Bobb denied that he had resigned. Newsday reported Monday that Bobb wrote his CL colleagues saying, “I make my home in Port-of-Spain and in Washington DC. I have not resigned from the board of directors of Clico or CL Financial.”
The paper said Bobb explained that he reason he now lives in Washington is "well-known to many TT nationals".
Bob was appointed to head the conglomerate after government took control of it.
