A Sunday Guardian investigation has revealed that an audit has uncovered more "ghost gangs" in at least two of the ten regions of the Unemployment Relief Programme (URP) in Trinidad.
It said URP programme director, Clay Thomas, admitted in a telephone conversation that his office had ordered the audit, but said he could reveal further information. However the paper said Thomas noted that audits are common in the URP.
It quoted Thomas as saying “Everything is cool..." adding that taxpayers are getting “value for their money” from URP.
