Is PNM symbol at T&T consulate a coincidence?
The two pictures above are from the office of the Trinidad & Tobago Consulate in Toronto. The Balisier, the symbol of the governing People's National Movement (PNM), is featured prominently in a floral arrangement in the foyer and in another one inside the main office.
I don't wish to make a judgment on this, except to note that when the Balisier appeared on the tail of Caribbean Airlines, the Trinidad and Tobago national airline, it created such an uproar that the airline decided to take it off.
Perhaps the staff at the consulate just put it there because it is a beautiful Trinidad and Tobago flower. Or is it more than that? I leave it up to you to judge.
