Prime Minister Patrick Manning:
"It's not easy to solve the crime problem...there can be no overnight solution. If one strategy doesn't work we will try another. We will keep trying until we get it right."
Trinidad Express:
"Mr Joseph just has to go - Mr Manning does not need any monitoring mechanism to tell him what the country already knows - Mr Joseph's is one of the most demonstrably failed ministries, if not the most, in Trinidad and Tobago's 46 years of sovereign independence...How can he not now hold Mr Joseph accountable as, day after bloody day, the murder figures mount?
