Hillary Clinton bounces back

Hillary Clinton made made a stunning comeback in the U.S. presidential race Tuesday night with primary victories in Rhode Island, Texas and Ohio. Barack Obama continued his winning streak capturing Vermont early in the evening, but Clinton stopped him in his tracks, clinching the three other states.

But it was Ohio that excited her and her campaign team most. No candidate in recent history has won the White House without winning Ohio. And she made a point of that when she invited America to join her in the march to the Oval Office, saying she is ready to serve from "day one."

The former first lady amended Obama's campaign cry, "Yes we can!", telling supporters, "Yes we will!

And while most commentators are saying it's still a wide open race (Obama has the lead in delegate count) Clinton is starting to sound like she already has the Democratic Party's nomination.

She hinted at the possibility of sharing the Democratic presidential ticket with Barack Obama.

"That may be where this is headed, but of course we have to decide who is on the top of ticket. I think the people of Ohio very clearly said that it should be me," she said in Ohio.

Obama is playing down his losses stressing that he is still ahead of Clinton in the delegate count.

In appearances on the morning talk shows, both Democrats say they have the credentials to go head to head with Republican nominee-in-waiting John McCain.
